Our Story

Bee Honest Candle Company was born in the fall of 2016 when two environmentally aware, earth friendly, New Jersey natives learned about the toxic chemicals that are present in a popular house hold item - the candle.

Every day people are unknowingly breathing in carcinogens, preservatives, lead, synthetics, and pollutants that can cause allergies and even serious illnesses. We felt this shouldn't be the case if one simply wants to enjoy the beautiful ambiance a candle brings.

We soon discovered that it was difficult to find a truly non-toxic candle. We studied labels closely and noticed that many candles were either paraffin or soy wax mixed with preservatives, additives, or synthetic fragrances, and most contained a lead-infused wick.

With extensive research and dedication to strive for something better, we learned about the many benefits of beeswax candles and how they not only contain only one pure ingredient that is made in nature with no harmful effects, but they are actually said to purify the air. Add in an eco-friendly, lead-free, cotton wick, and you have an authentic, natural product that won't harm your health and is respectful of the environment.

We not only wanted to provide a quality product, but we also wanted to support our great country, which is why our materials are sourced in the USA when possible.

Throughout our research process, we learned about Colony Collapse Disorder and how the bee population is rapidly declining. In turn, we donate a portion of our proceeds to bee preservation through the Pollinator Partnership, whose research helps protect endangered honey bees and other pollinators.

Bee Honest Candles are our contribution to humanity, our economy, and a healthier tomorrow. We sincerely hope that you enjoy our candles as much as we do! We would like to thank all of our customers, suppliers, and supporters for whom we are so grateful. Thank you for supporting the bee cause and always remember to mind your beeswax!
